- Fbi hrt vs delta force - Fbi hrt overseas Does the FBI HRT rank up there with the military Special Forces?

I know that the HRT trains with military special ops teams like Delta Force, but do they go over seas with them also and do joint operations even though they are primarily a domestic counter-terrorism squad? And can you even put them in the same class as some of the spec ops teams? From what I have read, I think you could but then again, articles from random websites can’t be very reliable.

  1. Not really. Special ops are elite in all areas. HRT is a team that is used to rescue hostages and take the HT’s alive. Training itself is very different being that it is not as intense and they dont learn all the things that spec-ops learn.

  2. Overseas? This shouldn’t even be a question. Anyone in the know would not be responding to this in any shape, form or fashion.

And, yes to the “same class” question. They draw heavily from special operators who are out of the military.

  3. In the past alot of the FBI HRT team members had a military SOF background. The FBI doesnt conduct overseas operations, not their mission. They have a pretty highspeed HRT Team and have alot of experienced former SOF Members and excellent training, in my opinion, within their mission guidelines they could be comparable. But they are a law enforcement agency versus Delta or USMC Force Recon, for example, I dont think they could match the insertion capabilities of their military counterparts. But once you start clearing a building its pretty much the same. Once again, this is just my opinion.

  4. 1. No FBI HRT does not go on missions outside the US.

    2. For Hostage Rescue, the HRT is as well trained as Delta.

But hostage rescue is just part of what delta does.

    Plus the training is different

The FBI trains to arrest suspects, Delta trains to kill them.
